The DP User's Cooperative
The Windows Project Plan
Here is an outline of "the Plan":
- Steve Patamia, author of DPMouse,
is willing and able to serve as software architect for creating and/or providing the necessary tools to create
Windows GUI versions of DataPerfect databases. Obviously he
is not willing to do this for free. Steve is currently a PhD candidate
and has offered to set aside his teaching duties to focus on this project
IF there is a stipend. We as DP users and developers would
have to put up that money. If no money is forthcoming, Steve will
continue his teaching duties instead of focusing on DP.
- Steve would like to find a few other coders from among DP
users--people who have a solid working knowledge of Visual Basic,
Delphi, or C++ (the exact language has not been selected yet).
- If a coding team can be found and funded, we as users and
developers would need to add our input on what capabilities we
want in these software tools.
- Many of us will need to conduct extensive testing to ensure that these new
software products are capable of meeting our database development needs.
If you would like to become involved in DPUC, you can send mail to James Trybalski..
