San Quintin is situated about one hundred twenty miles south of Ensenada on the Transpeninsular Highway. San Quintin comprises two disticnt areas - the agricultural valley and the bay.

The valley's agricultural production is growing every year. Cash crops along with experimentation farming form the agricultural base.

Early nineteenth century British pioneers settled Bahia San Quintin with a Mexican government land grant to farm the area. Successive droughts impaired the growth of the operation and the settlers left the area. Bahia de San Quintin now attracts fishermen and bird hunters for seasonal pursuits.
